Atlas UI
An accessible component library that brought six product teams onto one visual language.

Overview
Atlas UI is the design system I built at Brightside Health together with two designers. It replaced four slightly different button components, three date pickers and countless one-off modals with a single, documented library.
The challenge
Each product team had drifted into its own visual style, and every accessibility fix had to be made four times over. Patients noticed the inconsistency, and engineers lost hours rebuilding things that already existed somewhere else.
What I built
- Forty components built on accessible primitives, each with keyboard, screen reader and contrast checks in the test suite.
- A token system for color, spacing and type that powers light, dark and high contrast themes.
- Codemods that migrated most existing screens automatically, so adoption never depended on a big rewrite.
Results
All six product teams adopted Atlas within nine months. Accessibility issues found in audits dropped by 80%, and new features now ship with consistent UI by default. The library was later open sourced.
